Photography headshots are arguably one of the most important investments anyone can make for their business.
They not only represent your brand, but also you as a person. Selfies taken on a phone with bad lighting and filters can in some cases be absolutely fine, but in other cases, it’s just not giving off a professional vibe.
Nicola came to me with a lifestyle portrait brief. She wanted a mix of formal and relaxed headshots for her social media presence, action shots of her at work, photos of her with a client, and some shots of spaces that she had designed for her portfolio.
Nicola had never had her headshots taken before and was understandably quite nervous. Prior to the shoot, I put together a moodboard for her, with styling tips, posing options, colour palette and venue ideas and straight away, she brought into the vision and started to relax. It’s so important that you trust your photographer and feel comfortable around them, and it’s my job to form that connection with you.
Because Nicola wanted a comprehensive suite of images that were going to give her a variety of content options across her social platforms, website and promotional publications we booked in a half day session. To be honest we did run over a little but, but ultimately this allowed us time to include multiple outfit changes, client shots and two different locations.
‘The help and advice you gave me in preparing for the shoot meant that i could arrive feeling happy, confident and ready to go…..thank you Kayla, it was a lot of fun and I absolutely LOVE my photo’s. They are beyond anything i ever expected and I am quite literally blown away with the results’
